Andy & Friends Chamber Music Concert at the Fine Arts Center in Greenville

Andy Armstrong is back for the second concert of the second series with eight new young musician friends who have played all over the world on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, 102 Pine Knoll Drive, at 7 p.m. Simone Porter, Nathan Meltzer, violins; Melissa Reardon, viola; and Alice Yoo, cello, will play Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major, written when Ravel was 28, “an early demonstration of Ravel’s brilliant juxtaposition of formality and sensuality, and his incredible use of tone color.” They will be joined by Virgil Moore, Hayoung Choi, violins; Carlos Walker, viola; and Sara Scanlon, cello, to play Mendelssohn’s String Octet in E-flat Major, written when Mendelssohn was a mere 16 years old. They will also coach FAC students.
